Silver Peak is a company that develops products for wide area networks (WANs). Its technology augments or replaces Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) networks with secure Internet connectivity, marketed as an SD-WAN. The company was founded in 2004 by David Hughes. Silver Peak shipped its first product, the NX-series hardware appliance, in September 2005, and their first SD-WAN solution, EdgeConnect, in June 2015.
Silver Peak offers a high-performance SD-WAN solution that provides secure and reliable virtual overlays to connect users to applications with the flexibility to use any combination of underlying transport without compromising application performance. The technology can augment or replace Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) networks with secure Internet connectivity. This results in greater business agility and lowers costs. More than 3,000 globally distributed enterprises have deployed Silver Peak broadband and hybrid WAN solutions across 80 countries.
