Initially PixelPin is focused on the use of pictures. Using pictures is more personal, more secure and more likely to be widely used by the non technologically minded. The use of pictures is also more accessible. PixelPin develops its products using the most stringent security standards and policies including ISO 27001 and PCI DSS v2.0 Hybrid giving users confidence in using PixelPin products in the financial markets.
The move from more technical devices such as PCs to more portable and user friendly devices such as smart phones and tablets had transformed how computing devices are used, and opened them to much more significant numbers of non technical users. Alternative technologies such as hardware tokens and biometrics do not work well in the mobile space and therefore a software only approach is more likely to be successful. The picture based approach is readily understood by all ages and is likely to appeal to the teen and school age markets who readily adopt new technologies.
