NetScout Arbor Cloud DDoS Protection for Enterprises
As part of a layered approach to DDoS protection, Arbor Cloud provides in-cloud protection from advanced and high-volume DDoS attacks without interrupting access to your applications and services. Arbor Cloud’s automated or on-demand traffic scrubbing service, staffed by Arbor’s DDoS security experts, defends against volumetric DDoS attacks that are too large to be mitigated on-premise.
Features and Benefits:
Global DDoS Protection A single solution offering carrier-agnostic, global DDoS protection, backed by worldclass security intelligence and industryleading DDoS protection products. Multi-Tbps of In-Cloud Protection Worldwide scrubbing centers with over 11 Tbps of network mitigation capacity offers comprehensive protection from the largest DDoS attacks. Cloud Only and/or Hybrid Protection The Arbor Cloud solution can be deployed as a cloud-only and/or an intelligent combination of in-cloud and on-premise DDoS protection- providing you the flexibility to design comprehensive DDoS protection that fits your environment. Powered by Global Threat Intelligence Arbor Cloud DDoS protection solutions are continuously armed with the latest global threat intelligence from NETSCOUT® Arbor’s ATLAS® and ATLAS Security Engineering & Response Team (ASERT). Automated DDoS Attack Detection and Mitigation Using stateless packet-processing technology and/or cloud-based IP flow analysis, DDoS attacks can be automatically detected and routed to Arbor Cloud global scrubbing centers for mitigation. Managed Services Rely upon the industry-leading expertise of Arbor Networks to manage and optimize your on-premise DDoS protection.NetScout Arbor Edge Defense
Deployed in between the firewall and internet router, and using highly scalable stateless packet processing technology, Arbor Edge Defense acts as a network perimeter threat intelligence enforcement point where it blocks in bulk, inbound cyber threats (e.g. DDoS attacks, IOCs) and outbound malicious communication - essentially acting as the first and last line of perimeter defense for an organization.
Features
First & Last Line of Defense
AED’s unique location on the network edge, its stateless packet processing engine and ATLAS® global threat intelligence feed allow it to stop inbound threats and outbound communication from compromised hosts.
Integration with Security Stack
REST API, support for STIX/TAXII, Syslog, CEF, LEEF and Contextual Threat Intelligence fueled by ATLAS enable AED to integrate into existing security stack and processes.
Intelligently Automated, Hybrid DDoS Protection
The intelligently automated, fully managed combination of in-cloud (via Arbor Cloud) and on-premises (via AED) is continuously armed with ATLAS global threat intelligence; offers the most comprehensive form of protection from the modern-day DDoS attack.
Outbound Threat Communication Detection and Blocking
AED’s ATLAS derived, reputation based threat intelligence allow it to detect and block outbound communication from internal compromised hosts; helping to stop further proliferation of malware or data breach.
Support for Virtual & Hybrid-Cloud Environments
vAED is a virtual version of the AED appliance that can be run in your private virtual environment like Amazon Web Services, providing unified protection for your hybridcloud environments.
Benefits
- First Line of Defense: Deployed at the network perimeter, using stateless technology and armed with millions of IoCs, AED detects and blocks inbound commodity cyber threats thus taking pressure off of stateful devices such as Next Gen Firewalls.
- Last Line of Defense: Missed by existing security stack, AED can detect and block outbound communication to known bad IP addresses, domains, URLs, geographies; thus helping stop the further proliferation of malware within an organization and avoid a data breach.
- Contextual Threat Intelligence: When an IoC is blocked, AED leverages the global threat intelligence of NETSCOUT ATLAS to provide more context related to the IoC thus helping security teams determine risk and/or give them more information to proactively hunt using their other security tools.
- Best of Breed DDoS Protection: AED can automatically detect and stop inbound application layer, TCP-state exhaustion and DDoS attacks as large as 40 Gbps. In the event of even larger DDoS attacks, Cloud Signaling automatically reroutes traffic to Arbor Cloud or a MSSP’s cloud-based mitigation center.
- Integration: AED’s robust REST API, support for STIX/TAXII, Syslog, CEF, LEEF enable AED to integrate into existing security stack and processes.
Netscout nGenius Pulse
The nGeniusPulse is the addition to the nGenius Platform, adding synthetic testing and infrastructure health monitoring. nGeniusPULSE extends the service-oriented approach of nGeniusONE and ASI. When a problem is identified by nGeniusONE a nd isolated as a potential infrastructure element, IT can drill down directly from the nGeniusONE console to the underlying infrastructure. With one contextual workflow, IT doesn’t need stop the process and start using a separate infrastructure component monitoring tool.
Compliments Real User Measurement Testing and Packet Analysis in Netscout’s nGeniusONE
Combined with nGeniusONE, nGeniusPULSE delivers total visibility of the enterprise by routinely and automatically monitoring applications and services for performance and availability, while also monitoring the health of the underlying infrastructure that delivers those services. nGeniusPULSE extends the service-centric approach of the nGenius platform with workflows giving visibility from all the way out to SaaS applications and down to infrastructure elements for faster problem resolution.
To monitor the health of the infrastructure, nGeniusPULSE Server uses SNMP and WinRM to monitor servers, and SNMP to monitor network devices. nGeniusPULSE also captures and displays syslog information to easily correlate issues found in the infrastructure.
For business services from Cloud to conventional applications, active testing automatically and routinely simulates real user actions accessing the service – even if no active users of the application are on the system, in order to proactively alert for issues or outages.
The nGeniusPULSE solution is deployed in a data center on a hardware or virtual server providing security and control of your information. Agents, called “nPoints,” can be placed virtually anywhere to run active tests and send results to the nGeniusPULSE Server.
From the nGeniusPULSE server, results are displayed in an intuitive interface that includes dashboards, drilldowns, and alerts; as well as easy-to-use configuration and administration functions. nGeniusPULSE also includes direct technical support from NETSCOUT’s best-in-class support teams with 24x7 support services.
Main capabilities:
- Test up to 50 different business services from up to 1,500 differ ent locations on a single server
- Measure service levels form anywhere users are located - even when they’re not there
- Create your own custom active tests such as Ping, bandwidth utilization, speed, etc.
- Monitor up to 25,000 infrastructure elements (servers, interfaces, routers, switches) on a single server
Netscout nGeniusONE
The nGeniusONE Service Assurance platform provides real-time visibility into the performance of business-critical applications such as web-based applications, voice and video communications, database, financial, or other services by analyz ing wire data as it crosses the network, on premises or in the cloud. nGeniusONE with NETSCOUT’s patented Adaptive Service Intelligence (ASI) technology leverages this wire data to generate “smart data” for smarter analytics to assure performance, manage risk, and facilitate superior decision making regarding application and network services.
The nGeniusONE platform delivers valuable macro-level insights into the status andperformance of enterprise-wide services, application components, individual hosts or groups of clients or servers. This expands the IT architect’s understanding of service consumption patterns, application component dependencies, and overall user experience to better support resource optimization and capacity planning.
Powered by ASI technology, NETSCOUT’s highly scalable Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) engine relies on wire data to provide real-time, contextual analysis of network and service performance, availability and quality. With these insights, nGeniusONE can provide customers end-to-end visibility in complex physical, virtualized, and cloud-based deployments, allowing enterprises to regain visibility into business critical applications and services even in difficult to instrument locations.
